“The greatest power in the realm and range of human existence is spirit”
(From the Baha’i Writings)
Counselling
Since humanity first set foot on the planet he has successfully used his intellect and ingenuity to adapt to the challenges of his environment. However the greatest challenge to humanity today is mastering his own self. In this fast-paced, high pressure world more and more individuals are feeling lost, empty, disconnected, unfulfilled and are actively seeking meaning, unaware that the remedy lies within themselves.
Each human being possesses a rich store of potential. The skills and capacities necessary to deal with issues and generate the solutions so desperately sought exist deep within each individual. Rather than expending valuable energy in avoiding and combating the stress and strain on a daily basis, one’s energy can be used more productively to develop and enhance the internal coping skills. Once developed, the individual can ‘ride the waves’ with confidence and understanding. In this way, clients are not only empowered to deal with their immediate problems, but more significantly those unforeseen crises which will arise in the future.
In my practice I strive to create a secure, loving and accepting environment where clients can safely explore their difficulties and work towards identifying an appropriate and enduring resolution. As a Counsellor, I recognise that it is essential to adopt a holistic approach which integrates the psychological, physical and spiritual aspects of a person in order to find a complete and enduring solution.
It is possible to come to realise that life’s challenges contain hidden gifts, each of which, when embraced, can provide a vital opportunity for personal growth.
